Sheila Squillante is a poet and essayist who grabbed a paintbrush last winter and now—surprise!—she’s also an abstract visual artist. Gotta love a good mid-life plot twist! She is drawn to the exuberance of bold color and wild, gestural brushstrokes on the one hand, and soft muted colors and shapes that whisper and suggest on the other. What a Libra—she can never make up her mind. You can see more of her work (art + writing) at www.sheilasquillante.com, or follow her on Instagram @sheilasquillante_

I don’t think I thanked you for the gorgeous color and movement you created to accompany my essay “Darning.” I do love it, and it seems perfect somehow for “Darning.”
