Jill Khoury is interested in the intersection of poetry, visual art, gender, and disability. Because of her blindness, she finds her most authentic expression as a visual artist in collage, abstract, and mixed media techniques. The series of paintings for this issue of Brevity were composed in 2013 while recovering from the loss of her mother by suicide. She has three collections of poetry including Suites for the Modern Dancer (Sundress, 2016) and edits of Rogue Agent, a journal for poetry and art that inhabits the body.
